With a name inspired by J.D. Salinger's beloved fictional teenager, Holden Caulfield,
Holden is everything you would expect from a teenage boy, times four. The past
year and a half has proven that sometimes the most infectious attitude is that
of a care free kid. Holden has managed to work as hard as any up and coming
band around and within only 18 months into their career as a group, Holden has
managed to tuck quite a bit under their collective belt, and there is more than
ever on the horizon.
The band has just completed their first full length album. The appropriately
witty titled, "Selling To Miners" has 12 thoughtful and catchy songs
that been gaining the attention of well respected Recording Labels in Los Angeles.
The LP was mastered by well known and respected Eddy Schreyer of Oasis Mastering
in Studio City. The album was produced by former Mad Caddies drummer, Todd Rosenberg,
and his brother Chadd. This has all the makings of a hit. The guys are not going
to wait for fate to find them though, the band has a few things up their sleeves.
After a pretty busy month of May the real test begins. Holden graduates high
school in June and a week later they're taking off on a 60 date summer tour.
With almost a show every day, there is a lot of work ahead. Beginning in San
Diego on June 23rd, Holden will be discovering the western United States at
the same time the kids of the West are discovering Holden.
The new disk is not all that's been going on in the Holden camp though. The
band has played many shows with many known bands The guys have opened for Yellowcard,
Goldfinger, Further Seems Forever, Common Rider, New Tomorrow, and Blackalicious.
They have also managed to shoot two top quality music videos on 35mm film. Back
in October and November of last year, the band used MTV's Sorority Life star
Candace in the music video for their hit, "Final Impression". They
also stopped off in Burlingame California for just enough time to shoot a video
for "Dimitrius" at the high school where the movie Dangerous Minds
was filmed.
